Huawei Hugging Google for Global Expansion

With the launch of the highly rated Huawei Nexus 6P one thing is clear.  Huawei sees its partnership with Google as a key strategy to penetrate the USA and other key markets.  You can expect Huawei to do its best to behave and leverage this relationship to overcome some of its image problems.  From the feedback so far they are off to a great start and right now they are the one stealing the limelight from Xiaomi.

Smartphone OEMs in China and the Economy - Who's rising and falling

At least 3 of the top 5 Chinese OEMs are predicting declining smartphone volumes in 2015. The one clear stand out from this category seems to be Huawei that blew through its numbers and already paid out large bonuses to the employees in its Consumer division.  Huawei is the first of the large traditional OEMs that has proven they can take on Xiaomi and the other new generation smartphone OEMs.

India Continues as the go-to market for Chinese OEMs

India continues as the go-to target market for Chinese OEMs. Huawei Honor announced they will invest $10 million to promote the brand in India including a localized marketing team and website. Xiaomi is using India to announce a major product launch on April 23 with Lei Jun and Hugo Barra in attendance. Meizu also announced the M1 launching in India in April. With Nubia, Xiaomi, Oppo, Meizu, Gionee, Huawei, Vivo and others it is starting to look as crowded as China.
