In another case of throwing shit at the wall to see what sticks, China suspended the rules requiring foreign companies to provide source code to the Chinese government. I don’t think there was any surprise that this went nowhere. The only surprise was that the rules were suspended so publically.  Normally these things just sort of disappear. But given the legitimate security concerns China and every other country is facing I don’t expect this to be the end of this topic. By the way, notice how every person from both the China and the USA sides are all wearing blue ties.
